Through cooperation with international organizations, several African countries have begun to build small greenhouses to help farmers improve crop yields and quality. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said that this move will not only improve food security, but also enhance farmers' ability to cope with climate change.

However, the promotion of greenhouse technology also faces some challenges. High construction and operation costs, insufficient technical training and market access barriers still restrict the development of greenhouses in many countries.
